MDG Awards Volunteers
The annual MDG Awards support and raise awareness of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This year, the MDG Awards will be held on September 19, 2010, at the Waldorf Astoria. We are looking for volunteers to assist with logistical support.
AVAILABILITY:
We are looking for 50 volunteers to help with logistics on the day of the MDG Awards.
CRITERIA:
1. Must be based in NYC or can be in NYC on the day of MDG Awards on September 19, 2010 and September 18th from 2-4pm for orientation.
2. College degree is preferable.
3. Knowledge of the United Nations system and Millennium Development Goals is an asset.

The New York-based ceremony provides a high profile platform to honour and celebrate exemplary efforts by select national governments and civil society stakeholders in contributing toward the achievement of the MDG goals.
The theme for this years ceremony is the 'the MDSs: the Global Heartbeat.' A series of compelling stories will illustrate the power and impact of the MDGs and their potential to transform lives. The event will encourage distinguished guests and celebrity speakers and entertainers alike a coice to their own personal commitment to supporting the MDGs while recognizing the need for all stakeholders to work toward their achievement.
